VLE

Virtual Learning Environment

Parents Information
Our school now has a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that children can access both in and out of school.

A VLE is a set of teaching and learning tools designed to enhance and personalise children’s learning by including computers and the Internet in the learning process. Our VLE provides the opportunity to set voluntary homework exercises that compliment or extend the work that children are completing in school. It also provides a means through which we can offer online support and provide links to good quality Internet links to outside curriculum resources.

Many children are already using the resource on a regular basis. All children in Key Stage 2 have been allocated usernames and passwords to access the materials and every pupil has access to their own online space where they can save and edit their own documents and access them anytime, anywhere. We feel that regular use of the VLE is an important part of their learning, particularly in terms of preparation for SATs at the start of the Summer Term.

Obviously, all exercises on the VLE are voluntary, but if you feel that your child would benefit from extra homework, the VLE is a great place to start!
