Fun in Forest School
The children are having an amazing time at Forest School!
Forest school provides an opportunity for children to experience nature and the outdoor environment in a safe, secure hands on way. Forest School helps to develop confidence, physical ability, communication skills, self-esteem, independence and much, much more.
Each week Mrs Marshman (Forest School Leader) runs a carefully planned session that lasts approximately one hour. The sessions take place all year round as this allows children the opportunity to experience all seasons and weathers.
During each session children are taught new skills which they use to complete small achievable tasks. This helps them build in confidence and become independent learners.
Children are encouraged to make their own choices and manage potential risks. The use of natural resources encourage children to think creatively and become more imaginative in their play. Many of the planned activities require children to help each other and be cooperative.
Please remember your child will need to wear their Forest School clothes to school and bring their school uniform in a bag. It is essential that all clothing is named.
