Welcome to Class RK.
The children have settled in well and are enjoying learning the daily routine by following the visual timetable.
The focus for this half term is Celebrations and so far the children have enjoyed finding out about Diwali by dressing up in Indian clothes, making rangoli patterns and clay diwa pots.
We have also talked about special times such as Remembrance Day and Bonfire night.
Preparations are now underway for our Christmas celebration where the children are learning the nativity story and songs.
We have also been learning about ways to be healthy and have been practising washing our hands, talking and looking at cleaning our teeth and eating a range of healthy foods as well as taking part in lots of physical activity.
The children are making good progress within our phonics lessons and are now learning to blend sounds together to be able to read words.
We have a had a number of the week up to 10 and now we are learning to add two groups of objects together and learn our number bonds to 10 in lots of fun and practical ways.
We have also been learning about 2d shapes and are starting to explore 3d shaped objects.
Thank you for all your support with the learning at home sheets, we can see the difference that it makes to your children every day.
Our Class visits Forest School each Thursday afternoon; the children are welcome to bring old clothes to change into each week in addition to wearing their wellies.
